Sometimes marriages can get into a deep rut and couples need to find a way to revive their relationship and restore it to the way it should be. Below are a few suggestions for ways to help spice up your marriage.
1. The most important thing you need to do is take care of yourself first. Begin a safe exercise routine and eat healthy foods daily. Take some “me” time every day and pamper yourself with a soothing bubble bath, a cleansing facial or whatever makes your feel good. Spend time with friends and find a hobby that you enjoy doing. Once you begin to feel more positive about yourself, you will start to notice improvements in your relationship with your spouse.
2. Stop worrying so much about how to improve your marriage and do something about it. Create a plan of action and then write down 7 ideas. Next, design a daily chart, write the ideas on it and do an activity each day of the week.
3. Show consideration for each other by helping with chores other than your own. Also, take turns looking after the kids to give each other some free time. Place love notes in your spouse’s lunch box and surprise your spouse by meeting them unexpectedly for lunch.
4. Go out on a date together and get all dressed up. Style your hair, put on makeup and wear your favorite perfume. To help make the date more interesting, use roleplay and act as though this is your very first time going out on a date together.
5. Find someone you trust to watch your kids and take a “second” honeymoon. Spend a quiet and peaceful weekend together at your favorite hotel. Go out for a romantic dinner at a cozy restaurant and maybe afterwards go dancing for a while. Then take a stroll in the moonlight and just enjoy spending time alone together.
