Mommy and Daddy Time

Your newlyweds. You spend almost every waking moment together. You go out for dinner frequently, go to the movies on the weekends and take spur of the moment getaways. Then you decide to start a family. Wow, just found out you can't come and go like you used to? Almost every waking moment is spent taking care of the kids instead of spending it with each other. Sounds like there needs to be a plan for some mommy and daddy time. Many parents find it tough to find time for each other with raising a family, our jobs, and just plain old life in general. Sometimes we, as a couple, can get lost in the shuffle.

Being a happy, healthy couple is so important to the health of the family as a whole. When mom and dad are happy, the entire family is happy. Our children also learn from watching us handle our relationship how to someday handle their own relationships. Our little boys are watching their dads and are learning how to talk to and treat their future wives. Our little girls are watching their moms and learning how to become a good wife.

Finding time alone may not always be an easy task, but with a little thought, there are many ways to steal even just a few minutes together. Wait until the weekend and go see a late afternoon movie. That way you will still have time to spend with the kids and also be there for them when it is time to put them to bed. Or you can go out after the kids go to bed. Another thing to do after the kids go to bed is have a romatic dinner. Feed the kids dinner early one night and while your mate is getting the kids put to bed, you can be fixing a nice dinner just for the two of you with candles and all. When they are all tucked in, sit down and enjoy some quiet time together and a hot meal. After dinner you could always cuddle on the couch and watch a movie together.

There are also ways to steal just a moment or two by going to bed at the same time. This would give you a few minutes to cuddle and maybe talk a little before falling asleep in each others arms. Send him a sexy e-mail. You just may make him blush at work. Set your alarm just a little earlier in the morning. Thay way you have time to snuggle, just the two of you or play hooky from work while the kids are in school. Imagine having the house all to yourselves.

However you may go about it, give it some thought and use your imagination. I bet you can think of many ways to spend a few minutes together. Remember, you two are the glue that hold the family together. So, get sticking, the kids will love you for it.
